Offered here is vintage Hamilton cal. 992E railroad grade watch in a 10K gold filled, screw front and back case. The case is bar over the crown type. For the people who do not know about the process, 2 plates of gold with a brass plate in between were put through a rolling mill together until the desired thickness was reached.

This process assured for a much thicker gold surface on the case. Many of these watches have lasted for 100 years or more with hardly any sign of brassing. This watch case is nice and does not show brassing. Except the bottom of the mid case. The 992E movement appears to be in good shape and running strong.

It is running within 15 seconds per 24 hours! The dial is double sunk and as you see has a chip between 11 and 12 o'clock. This watch dates to 1930 based on Hamilton Co. The crystal is in good condition without any marks. Hunting: The stem is at the 3:00 position, and the movement is meant to be mounted in a case that has a covering over the face.
