Vintage Hamilton 992b 21 Jewels Stainless Steel, Railroad Grade, Pocket Watch

  

Another one that has been in a safe for the last 35+ years! This is a Beautiful Hamilton 992B, size 16, 21 Jewel, Stainless Steel, Railroad grade, Pocket Watch. This is a Lever Set/Stem Wind, pocket watch.

I checked the time on this watch with the clock on my computer, and it is right on! It has not lost, or gained a minute in the last 24 hours! These Hamilton 992B's were the best that Hamilton had to offer and with the new ELINVAR Extra hairspring. The Movement reads, HAMILTON 992B, 21 Jewels, U.

Serial number C491139 = 1964 production date. The Jewels are set in gold cups.

As you can see in the pictures this is a very pretty movement with no careless screwdriver marks or scratches. Also notice on these later 992B movements how the demaskeening was carried on to the Pallet Plate under the balance wheel. This movement has been completely taken apart and cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Then it was oiled, greased, and very carefully put back together so as not to put any Marks on it, and timed. The case was also completely cleaned, and polished a little, not that it really needed it, with a NEW glass crystal installed, so that you will not have the added expense of having any of this done it you are the lucky winner of this beautiful 992B Railroad Pocket Watch! This is the Beautiful Melamine 24 Hour Dial, with the Steel Black TZ = Time Zone Hands, and Seconds hand. This is a VERY nice looking 24 Hour dial!

It looks like NOS, with no hairlines at all. These 24 hour dials are getting really hard to find in this condition! The covers screw on and off nicely, very smooth. The Beautiful Hamilton Model #15 Stainless Steel case reads, HAMILTON WATCH CO. This case is a VERY pretty case with a nice TIGHT bow. The front and back covers screw on and off very smooth. Just look at this case in the pictures and you can see where it has wrinkles, for lack of a better word. I have never seen one like this one. All in all, this is just another BEAUTIFUL Stainless Steel 992B Railroad Pocket Watch, and a BEAUTIFUL "must" addition to any fine watch collection. Please take a close look at the pictures, as they are as much a part of the description as my explanation.
