Vintage 1944 U. S. Govt. Hamilton 992b 21j, 10k Ygf Railroad Pocket Watch Nice

  

Another one that looks like it was just brought home yesterday! This is a Beautiful 1943 U. Hamilton 992B, size 16, 21 Jewel, Stainless Steel, Railroad grade, Pocket Watch. This is a Lever Set/Stem Wind, pocket watch.

I checked the time on this watch with the clock on my computer, and it is right on! It has not lost, or gained a minute in the last 24 hours! These Hamilton 992B's were the best that Hamilton had to offer and with the new ELINVAR Extra hairspring. Which is a good reason Hamilton got such a large government contract to produce these watches for the war effort.

The Movement reads, HAMILTON WATCH CO. Serial number C93202 = 1944 production date. The Jewels are set in gold cups. As you can see in the pictures this is a BEAUTIFUL movement with no scratches, and NO careless jewelers marks! This movement has been completely taken apart and cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Then it was oiled, greased, and very carefully put back together so as not to put any Marks on it, and timed. The Beautiful Stainless Steel case was also completely cleaned inside and out, with a NEW glass crystal installed, so that you will not have the added expense of having any of this done it you are the lucky winner of this beautiful Railroad Pocket Watch! This is a Beautiful "correct" SS = Single Sunk, "HAMILTON" MONTGOMERY Dial, with the Steel Black Hands, and Seconds hand. This is a VERY nice looking MONTGOMERY dial with no hairlines or chips at all. The case reads, STAR WATCH CASE CO. This case has a new glass crystal installed. Take a close look at this case, it looks like it was brought home YESTERDAY! This case is a VERY pretty case with a nice TIGHT bow, and you can still see the some of the "butler" finish on the back cover from the factory. The front and back covers screw on and off nicely, VERY smooth. This one has none of the little dings/dents, on the back, and NO scratches, that a watch can get while being worn working on the railroad. GOVT movements originally came in the military Base Metal cases.

It looks like this one was taken home and put in a another case to wear at home! All in all, this is just another BEAUTIFUL 992B Railroad Grade Pocket Watch, and a Beautiful "must" addition to any fine watch collection.
