We offer for your consideration this vintage WWII era Hamilton pocket watch. This pocket watch is Operational. This is an Vintage 1941/42 Hamilton open face pocket watch. This watch case measures approximately 52 mm in diameter/ 17 mm in thickness, front to back.

The case is base metal, andlooks to be in good condition. There some small pinhole dents on the case edge at the 9/10 minute mark. The front crystal bezel, and back are screw set. The crystal has a raised edge, and is in very good condition. The front bezel has a narrow coin grooved band surround around the crystal. This coin groove band is also in the edge of the back cover. The most ornate feature of this case is the bail, which has a subtle art nouveau feel to it. The case back is plain, unadorned. The dial of this watch is off white in color, with a bit of a patina. The face is a flush numeric minute dial, with arabic numerals. The hour hand is a heavy spade style, in black. The minute hand is a heavy whip with needle pointer, in black. The sweep second hand is very fine, black, with a small spade shape at the aft end. This beautiful timepiece is 79 years old, it is complete, and running just fine. This appears to be the civilian version of a watch Hamilton produced for the U. Army during the second world war. It is the same 4992B movement, the works contracted to the military were stamped U. This watchworks is serial No. Date of manufacture approximately 1941/42. The case is a Keystone stamped "Base Metal". With the serial Number "749543".
