Outstanding Serviced 1939 Hamilton 16s, 992e, 21j, 5p, +temp Railroad Pocket Watch

  

For your consideration is this incredible Hamilton 1939 992E 16S, 21J, 5P, + Temp Railroad Pocket Watch from my collection of Antique, and Railroad Pocket Watches. Hamilton Railroad Pocket Watches were the Standard of the Railroad Industry which other manufacturers aspired to.

The 992Elinvar was incredibly accurate, and reliable as all their Railroad Movements were. This serviced Railroad 992E is lever set, and pendant wind. It has gold jewel settings, 21 jewels, and a gold center wheel. It is adjusted to 5 positions, and temperature. I have timed it for 3 days in various positions.

It not only runs, it keeps excellent time! The nickle movement is bright and shiny. It sets time, and winds easily just as it should. The production run of this 992E was only 7,000.

There can't be too many of these wonderful 79 year old 992E's still in existence in this condition today. The Hamilton Box Car Double Sunk Enamel Dial is without any issues I can see.

There is no fading, discoloration, chips, or hairlines visible to me. All 3 correct hands are also without any issues. They are beautifully blued, rust and corrosion free. The Wadsworth (Hamilton Model 2 Bar Over Crown 10KGF Case) is outstanding. This gleaming, plain polished case shows only the faintest, fine scratches. There is absolutely no brassing.

The crown shows little wear. The bow is tight, and shows little to no wear. The glass crystal is clear, chip free with only a few fine scratches.

I strive to be completely accurate to the best of my knowledge in all my listings via text, and multiple clear pictures. I would not want the new owner to receive any unpleasant surprises. I would not want that to happen to me. I have been a collector for over 30 years, actually, closer to 40 years. , and this is one of the finest 992E's I have owned.
