Hamilton 992 Railroad 16S 21J Pocket Watch Mainliner Case circa 1920

  
Although this Hamilton Railroad Grade 992 from 1920 watch does wind up and run, we are unsure of the accuracy or length of runtime. We dated the watch by the serial number from a page about Hamilton Pocket Watches on the pocketwatchrepair website.

Hands on the face are blue, numerals black and red. It has a very nice design pattern on the Defiance aftermarket case with serial number 72220. The butterfly appears to have been replaced with a brass piece. The leather strap was on it when found so we are leaving it with the pocket watch as it was carried during it's past. The acrylic crystal does show wear close up, but from a distance looks pretty good for it's age with maybe only 3 to 4 or so noticeable scratches.

We weren't planning on using those pictures, but they enhanced the detail so well we did. Obviously this piece was loved and well used. It was surprisingly clean on the inside to us, but of course a good cleaning and adjustment will bring this 992 back up to par.
