Hamilton 956 Electric Railway Special 17-jewel 16-size Pocket Watch, YGF Case

  

The Electric Railway Special was designed for trolley and light-rail drivers who did not require a watch that met the criteria for mainline railroad service. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 50mm (2) diameter. This watch features a gold-filled screw back and bezel case, a 17-jewel adjusted stem-wind stem-set Grade 956 movement, and a single-sunk Montgomery style Electric Railway Special porcelain dial with Arabic numerals.

The Elgin yellow gold filled case is in excellent condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry and no visible brassing. The Montgomery dial is in excellent condition, showing a few very minor hairlines not noticeable unless you look very closely. The movement runs and keeps good time. Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces.
