Hamilton 946 EXTRA 23J Pocket Watch with A. N. Anderson EXTRA Montgomery Dial

  
For your consideration is a Hamilton Watch Co. 18 size 23 jewel open face lever-set 946 "Extra". Rare variant of this top grade 18 size made for A. Anderson of Minneapolis, MN and this example is marked "Extra" along the screw at the left side of the barrel bridge and is fronted by its correct original A. Anderson, Extra double-sunk enamel Montgomery dial. Watch is in a nicely engraved hinged Keystone J. Movement serial number is 550801 which is listed in the Hamilton factory ledger records as a June 7th, 1913 sale to A.

The watch was just cleaned this month August 2018. Dial faces up nicely and has some hairlines in the outer chapter and a small hairline at the lower right corner of the inner chapter. Very, very nice Montgomery Dial with very hard to see imperfections and very hard to find dial. Nice blued hands with perfect glass crystal.

The beautiful nickel movement has some small marks near the case screw locations. The Hamilton 946 movements are some of the most beautiful made with the nickel, gold lettering, jewels, and gold jewel cups. The open face hinged case has initials.

Case has little to no wear. Back hinge might open to 93 degrees. Case is a Keystone, J. Boss Guaranteed for 25 years. Please continue to check back. All REASONABLE OFFERS will be considered.
