Low serial numbered P5413 World War II era Hamilton Navigator's Air Force chronograph watch, Model 23, housed in a original U. Army Air Force metal canister carrying case with viewing window, manufatured by Geo H. This watch was used by the U. Army Air Force as a navigation watch and bomb timer. It comes in its protective metal canister with spring cushion support mechanism. These cases are rarely found and were given to the mavigators of various types of bombers and troop carrier planes, so they could synchronize the timing of their missions. The Hamilton Model 23 has a 16 size Keystone base metal case. It has a complex, high grade chronograph movement with 19 jewels, 1/5 split second division on the black dial, suspended and compensated balance, stem wind/stem set, single button start/stop/reset hack chronograph/timer. Easy to read white Arabic numberals and white hands on black dial, with dual subsidiary 60 sec dial and 30 min counter. Movement serial number is low with P5413, adjusted to temperature and 3 positions.

Condition: excellent dial, case to be in great shape, hands look nice. Outer case is in very nice shape for its age.

It is running and keeping accurate time, its timing feature works and resets as it should. No military contract marking on the back of the watch case.
