Ball Hamilton Brotherhood Of Locomotive Firemen 18 Size 17j Pocket Watch

  
Made by Hamilton 18 size 17 jewel open face lever-set Official B of LF Standard pocket watch. Scarce and very desirable Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen marked watch with matching movement and dial marking. Movement has a very attractive damaskeen pattern with a sunburst central area surrounded by three circular rings at perimeter, the combination of these two damaskeens is only found among the earlier portion of B of LF Standard movements. Watch is housed in a 20 year gold-filled B&B Royal case which looks to be potentially its original showing no sign of having held another watch.

Movement serial number is 42098. Running and a very nice looking movement overall with excellent color and luster and some typical mild surface marks. Dial has light hairlines with the majority either running from the center to the upper right edge or being in the 7 O'clock to 8 O'clock area, and dial surface has a few absolutely minuscule flakes along a few of its hairlines. Case is excellent with strong engine turning detail. Glass crystal has a few scattered scratches.
