The Ball is a pinnacle of any railroad watches collection. This watch was produced by Hamilton for Ball and is based on a famous Hamilton 992 movement. This watch dates back to 1925. It's cased in a Keystone J. Boss 14K White Gold filled case, which is also a classical case for railroad chronometer. Inside the case back you can see a lot of tiny marks by watchmakers who serviced this watch before. Looks like this watch really have see many railroads in its time. This is one of the most desirable case and dial combinations.

The overall condition is very good to excellent. Below is a detailed explanation of condition: Dial: Very good. Porcelain single sunk shows a few minor hairlines, especially between 4 and 5, but they are hard to see. Show very little fading and wear. Some faint scratches and signs of use.

No deep dents or damage. Both sides screw well, bow is tight. Just services, runs strong and fairly accurate with good power reserve. The watch runs strong and was serviced just days ago. It went through a complete overhaul with movement being taken completely apart, cleaned, oiled and regulated. This is almost 100 years old watch, but it runs strong and fairly accurate.

I wouldn't time trains with it, but it keeps pretty good time. Just a cost of service would be nearly half of the asking price.
