Ball 16s Pocket Watch / Hamilton 23 Jewels, Elinver, Ball Case, Serviced

  

The inside case back is stamped BALL OFFICIAL RR SRANDARD KEYSTONE WATCH CASE J. I don't see any worn yellow gold filled spots on this case except for inside the hole of bow where a chain is attached to.

The bezel and case back screw on & off nicely. There are couple of small groups of dents on the middle case, one is at 8:00 and the other is between 4:00 and 5:00.

Please check the last picture which is the dents at 8:00 and the other one between 4:00 and 5:00 just looks like this. Personally I don't think these dents are not bad at all, but they exist. The case back has fine brush finish.

Overall this case is in really nice condition. I don't think this case was used much.

The bow is not super firm, but firm enough to maintain its horizontal position. The glass crystal has some light surface scratches, but the glass is very clear and you won't need a replacement crystal. The dial has light surface scratches and there is 1 small & short light hairline between 1:00 and 2:00. There is no edge chips. Hands are blue color and as you can see in the pictures, minute hand has missing color spots.

The gorgeous movement was professionally serviced in December 2016 and this watch has been sitting in the safe since the last service in 2016. All parts including all cap jewel settings and barrel complete were completely disassembled, cleaned, oiled and adjusted by a professional watchmaker.

The oil used for this watch is all synthetic and it will last much longer than mineral oil. The movement has light surface scratches, but none of them are deep. I can see some small rust spots on swan neck shaped regulator spring.

The movement says BALL WATCH CO. TRADE MARK OFFICIAL STANDARD MOTOR BARREL 23 JEWELS ADJUSTED 5 POSITIONS B652045" and under the balance, it is marked "ELINVER. The balance motion is good and its ticking sound is very rhythmical. According to this serial number, this watch is from around 1942. I can set time and wind this watch very smoothly and this watch continues to run without stopping, but I can't offer you any future warranties on this watch as this is over 75 years old and any mechanical things like this old may go wrong anytime even with proper care and this watch has had proper care. I use a square box smaller than a flat rate medium box and I will pack well. Please feel free to ask any questions.
