A Beautiful Vintage VERY hard to find 1930 "First RUN" Hamilton 16 Size, 992E "Elinvar" Pocket Watch, in a Hamilton Wadsworth Model #2, BOC / Bar Over Crown, 14K White Gold Filled Case. Lever Set & Stem wind running within plus/minus 30 seconds per 24 hours.

The 992E Movement reads, HAMILTON WATCH CO. 21 JEWELS, 992, DOUBLE ROLLER, ADJUSTED 5 POSITIONS, Serial number 2581469 for a 1930 production date making this watch within the first 500 Elinvar movements produced. Notice the NARROW stripped demaskeening in comparison to the WIDE striped. Seen in the successive runs of the 992E movements. The FIRST run is the run that has this narrow demaskeening. Another distinguishing feature is that the "ELINVAR" stamped under the balance wheel is a different and larger font than in the later Elinvar model runs.

A correct Double Sunk White Porcelain "Heavy Arabic Full Numerical" safety Dial # 581 signed HAMILTON in period font block lettering. There are NO hairlines in this Beautiful dial which is totally correct for these 1st run movements and appears to be original to the watch. The Hamilton Wadsworth Bar Over Crown Model #2 case is stamped, WADSWORTH, 14 KARAT GOLD FILLED, PAT 5-22-26 #0573878 dating this case to 1930 production exactly.

It has all matching numbers and the number series on the bezel and case ring include the letter "E". This Wadsworth BOC case was made just for the hamilton 992E. The Bow is nice and swings normally, the crown is very sharp. There are 2 small , almost undiscernable dings on case back with some microfine scratches. The case back & bezel screw on and off smoothly.
