The front bezel and the back cover are both screw set. The center field of the back cover has an engraved geometric pattern with a small diamond shape cartouche at the center. The case edge are floral with scrolls and some pediment shapes. The crystal is in excellent condition. The dial of this watch is white porcelain, double sunk, with bold black arabic numerals.
Along the outside the minutes are shown at the five minute intervals marked in heavy square black ticks, with small black ticks for the minutes between. The hour hand is a fine whip spade style in black. The minute is a whip diamond style in black, the sweep seconds hand has its own sunk dial and has a small moon shaped aft end, opposite a whip diamond shaped hand, that looks to be blued. After approximately 111 years, this watch still works nicely, but a cleaning would be a good idea. This watchworks is serial No.
