Antique 1915 Hamilton 992 Size 16s 21 Jewel Railroad Grade Pocket Watch

  

FROM THE ESTATE OF A LONG TIME POCKET WATCH COLLECTOR. An antique size 16s Hamilton Watch Co. This Grade 992 w/21 jewel, lever set movement watch with ruby and white sapphire jewels IS an approved railroad grade watch.

Watch is a 3/4 plate, double roller, openface movement and adjusts to temperature and five positions. Movement has a Breguet hairspring, Reed Regulator and gold screw set jewel settings. The nickel movement is finished in the second pattern (bar).

This watch has a very clean double-sunk Montgomery dial with second hand register and bold, fancy Arabic numerals and is marked "Hamilton". The bright white dial is in wonderful condition with no signs of any hairlines. Cross Bar and Open Diamond watch hands have a gorgeous, bold blue finish. The watch was manufactured circa 1915 with movement Serial Number: 1120982. The movement is gorgeous, with gold gilt lettering and watch keeps good time.

Watch is encased in a Fahys Montauk 20 Year Guaranteed Gold Filled screw back and bezel case (Serial number: 9191322). Both bezels and case edges have a plain polish surface but the back of the case has been engraved in the past with a monogram of BLA. The case back has lignt scratches consistent with age and use but no brassing is visible.

Crystal has light scratches and crystal edge has a roughness near the numeral 3; bow is tight and watch winds and sets easily. Watch measures 49 mm in diameter X 66 mm long (at bow) X 14.5 mm thick (crystal included). This high grade, antique Hamilton Railroad Pocket Watch is in very nice cosmetic condition, and very good mechanical condition. With many years of service remaining.
