Pocket Watch Railroad Model: 950B Serial No. S27181 23 Jewels Size: 16. This is a highly sought after Railroad Model, in excellent condition and features 23 jewels, and a size 16s. This watch looks and runs beautifully and has a clean, unblemished dial and movement. There is a slight bit of discoloration in a few spots on the case, but it is negligible.

Also, some light surface scratches are evident on the back of the watch, but would expected from prior use and age. In the B series (992B and 950B), Hamilton had the best hairspring and balance ever made for a pocket watch up to this time and perhaps even today.

The hairsprings in the 950B were better than the ones used in the 992B, and were more highly jeweled and finished to a higher level. As a timekeeper, the 950B was the best mass produced railroad pocket watch ever made. The 950 series consists of three grades; the No. 950, fitted with a conventional temperature compensated balance; the No. 950E, the same movement but containing an Elinvar hairspring; and the 950B , a completely new design utilizing an Elinvar Extra hairspring.
