This is a true time capsule and is a complete set with the 4992B GCT watch, original carrying case, and cardboard outer box. I have never seen another one of the outer boxes and doubt many survived. I'd rate the condition of this piece as mint given the age. Every aspect of this piece is in fantastic condition as shown in the pictures. I'd guess it was military surplus.
The watch has some light marks on the edges of the case which happen when it is pulled in and out of the case as they metal fingers hold it securely. The original glass crystal has a couple minor blemishes.
