1911 Ball (Hamilton) Official Standard Railroad Pocket Watch, Grade 999M, NICE

  

BALL Railroad Watch, running great and in good condition. Beautiful pocket watch, running quite well still as these railroad standard watches often do. There are only a few issues I see here.

The case back is worn at the edges. The dial has a chip at 11:30, and some spidering at 5 o'clock.

Otherwise, this piece is in fantastic condition. The dial and movement are very clean looking. The hands are (as should be) a lovely shade of blue. The rich history of these early railroad watches makes them lovely acquisitions. The case is the original case to the watch, clearly signed "Ball Model" on the inside, and made by J.

Between six different positions, the watch times +/- 5 seconds per day on four of the positions, -20 on another, and +20 on another. Distance from Pendant Loop to Bottom of Case: 71 mm. Size 16s movement, 21 jewels, adjusted to 5 positions, adjusted for temperature. Railroad Grade, movement features sapphire pallets and a motor barrel. Boss 20 Year Case, made for Ball.
