This listing is for a very nice 18-size, 21-jewel Hamilton grade 940 railroad watch with a handsome two-tone gold-flashed damaskeened movement. The serial number dates it to 1906. The watch runs and kept time in a short test.
Though the movement is simply marked "adjusted, " this watch is adjusted to five positions, temperature, and isochronism. It qualifies as a railroad-grade watch. Hamilton made thousands of grade 940 watches, but relatively few with movements finished like this one. The dial has repaired edge chip at 44 minutes that is mostly hidden by the bezel; I see no other flaws. It has nice set of blue hands; theres a small nick on the hour hand.
The glass crystal is in good shape, with some light scratches. The 20-year YGF Wadsworth case is also in nice condition, showing only normal wear. I see no brass, only a couple of small dings on the frame and one on the bezel that is visible in the fourth photo.
