16 size 21 jewel open face pendant-set Hayden W. A rare watch, only 250 total Hayden W. Wheelers were made in this 21 jewel open face pendant-set version. Movement is beautifully finished with gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold center wheel, two-finger bridge plate design, and wavy pattern nickel damaskeen.

Main plate is signed H. Watch is fronted by a double-sunk enamel Montgomery numeral dial, and watch is housed in a 25 year gold-filled Keystone J. Boss hinged case with beautiful engraving and engine turning detail to its rear. Wheeler on January 16th, 1903.

Running and a beautiful movement overall. Plates have some typical scattered mild surface marks, and barrel bridge has some small marks surrounding its stem detent screw which is very common among the early style Hamilton pendant-set movements of this design. Winding wheels have some small bits of oxide and small fine scratches. Dial is beautiful with just two very faint outer chapter hairlines at 11 O'clock.

Case is excellent with very strong engine turning and engraving detail and case has scattered small contact nicks to its band.
