Hamilton 991 Extremely Rare Fishscale Damaskeen 21j 16s Hc Pocket Watch

  

16 size 21 jewel hunting case lever-set Grade 991 pocket watch with an extremely rare fishscale damaskeen pattern. A spectacularly beautiful high grade watch, this is the only example of the Grade 991 that I've seen with this fishscale damaskeen. This damaskeen was used by Hamilton for their Grade 994 movements, but among other 16 size grades it is quite rare and was produced as a special finish for the Burr W. Watch is fronted by a double-sunk enamel dial, and watch is housed in a beautifully engine turned and engraved Keystone J. Boss 25 year gold-filled hunting case.

Running and an absolutely beautiful movement with superb color and luster. Dial has a small fracture to the lower right corner of its center section (above 5 Oclock), has a scratch within the upper portion of its seconds-register, and has some beveling wear of its perimeter under the case bezel. Case is beautiful showing virtually no wear and with its engine turning and engraving in superb crisp condition. Case has a group of small sharp dings to its band at the 1 Oclock position, case front leaves a small bit of gap to band along the sides when it is closed, case band (but not bezel) has an additional lever-set slot, bow is tight, and crown is in strong condition.
