Hamilton 2974B US Navy Military Comparing Watch WWII, SERVICED

  
You are looking at vintage military Hamilton 2994B chronometer made during WWII for US NAVY. This one dates back to 1941 based on serial number. These watches were used to take ashore and set exact time. Thus the name "comparing watch".

The seconds had has a stop lever to set exact time. It is based on famous Model 974B, therefore it's a 16 size pocket watch with similar accuracy to a railway chronometer. Cased in Keystone base metal case with no military contract number and related engraving on the back.

The case has a double back cover for dust resistance and anti-magnetic properties. This is rare and highly collectable piece of American military history in excellent overall condition.

Below is a detailed explanation of condition. White porcelain dial has a few hardly noticeable "hairlines" between 7 and 8. Original hands show very little wear and almost no aging. The crystal show very little wear, almost perfect. Minor scratches and a few dents on the side.

Back screws with ease, some wear on the crown. Just serviced, runs strong and accurate with good power reserve. A few hardly visible scratches. The watch runs strong and was serviced just days ago.

It went through a complete overhaul with movement being taken completely apart, cleaned, oiled and regulated. Very clean and all original. This is 80 years watch, but it runs strong and pretty accurate. Could compete with some contemporary watches in accuracy! Please refer to a Timographer image for details.
