Offered for your consideration today is this handsome vintage Hamilton pocket watch. This Art Deco style open face watch is Hamilton's 974 Grade, 17 Jewel, size 16s model, with a serial number of 1661929, which dates it to 1922. The watch case is 14K white gold filled, marked Illinois Watch Case Co.

As you can see, the watch comes with its original purple velvet fitted case with a Mother of Pearl latch as well with a white gold filled watch fob (please see the detailed photo of the markings on the jump ring attaching the fob to the watch). The watch presents well cosmetically, with scratches and scuffs to the crystal commensurate with age and use as well as some minor wear to the back of the case.

The watch does run, but stops occasionally, so it may need some adjustment. All and all, I think this is a lovely vintage American-made piece, suitable for use or display.
